New Seiko Stingray Fifty Five Fathoms FFF 55 Diver Homage Automatic SNZH55J1

Seiko Diver SNZH55J1 Fifty Fathoms (FFF) Black Stingray Homage. This watch is a brand-new Made in Japan Seiko SNZH55J1 diver watch that has been modified to reflect the look of one of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Models. The watch and all the modification parts are brand new. The watch has never been worn as can be seen in the photos.

For those not familiar with the SNZH, it is a rock-solid diver produced by Seiko with a 7S36C automatic movement with the crown at 3pm. If you want to know more about the base watch or the movement - check it out on the web. While Seiko call this watch a diver, it does not have a screw-down crown like the SKX diver series but still is rated water resistant to 100m.

Be careful about diver ratings if you thinking of using it as a dive watch check out the ratings on the Seiko website. The specifications of the original base watch are. Case: Polished and Brushed Stainless Steel.

Case Back: Screw down Hardlex see-through display back. Dimensions: 42m, 45mm to crown. This dial is a real beauty.

It is a very crisp looking sunburst brushed black dial with a combination of red and white (lumed section) indices / minute markers / date window. The cosmetics of the dial remind me of the watches of the 50s and 60s with its classic Automatic, understated fonts and brushed finish. The polished silver chapter ring reflects the red indices and lumed sections as you move the watch around in the light while the reflection swirls in the brushed finish of the dial. This is one of the better Seiko stainless steel bracelets in my opinion. It looks and feel really solid much more so than the SKX diver bracelets.

Please note that the SNZH is a 100m diver stated to be water resistant to 100m. While I have no reason to doubt that it is still waterproof, I have not had it pressure tested to confirm it is still waterproof so you will need to have it tested yourself if you choose to submerse it in water.
